Sometimes the relationship between you and your pet can become strained due to various misunderstandings. It is often believed that the behaviour of a ‘problem pet’ is irreversible, but with understanding, patience and a positive training programme, these problems can be im[proved upon if not completely rectified.

eduquiz_dogMany forms of treatment may deal with symptoms but analysing and treating the cause of the problem is the only way to ensure long-term success.

Let us help you to understand why your pet behaves the way he does. Your personal training programme will help you and your pet learn new skills, leading to a better behaved pet and a happier way of life for you both.

Types of problems commly dealt with:

Aggression
Separation related problems
Phobias i.e. fireworks, car aversions
Destructiveness and Chewing
House soiling

How does the training programme work?

Initial consultation – 1 ½ to 2 hours
This consultation occurs in your home to allow a full analysis of your pet’s behaviour in the home environment. We will assess your pet’s previous history, the home environment and discuss the problems being encountered by you and your pet.

Personalised training program
A personalised behavioural training programme will be constructed on discussion with you. By you changing the way you deal with your pet’s problem, your pet’s behaviour will change.

Full written report
Behavioural modification does not resolve problems overnight – most behaviour improves quickly but it can take at least 6 weeks to become a set new behaviour. A full written report will be given to outline the action to be taken in order for you to follow the programme effectively.  This report is available upon request.

Telephone support during the program
You are not alone. Ongoing support is given should you have any problems or queries throughout the programme - we are on the end of the telephone to assist.

Follow up consultation – 30 minutes
As mentioned, most behavioural changes do not change overnight. If necessary, 6 weeks after the initial consultation; another appointment (included within the cost) will be made if required to check on your progress (NB: some cases, such as aggression may need further consultations).

Some behavioural changes and problems can be due to physical illnesses or pain. Therefore all pets are seen on Veterinary referral only. This is to rule out illness, disease or injury as being the cause.
